The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra(CBSO) has launched new rush hour concerts that aim to be more convenient for busy people.

The one-hour performances will start at 6pm and include the CBSO’s world-famous soloists and conductors.

Mainly at Symphony Hall, the concerts will be especially handy for city centre workers to catch before heading home for tea and avoid rush hour as they will finish at 7pm.

“Rush hour concerts bring a whole new level of convenience to live music,” said a CBSO spokesperson. “From Brahms to Saint-Saëns, the programmes are brimming with epic works and feature performances by remarkable soloists.

“These concerts give audiences the opportunity to hear from our players and conductors through informal introductions to the music.”

Concerts will be updated regularly on the CBSO website. Some to look forward to at Symphony Hall include Elgar’s Violin Concerto performed by the CBSO’s leader Eugene Tzikindelean on Tuesday December 3 and the Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony performed by Sebastian Heindl on Tuesday June 3.

They are both at 6pm and tickets cost £10 and can be booked at the CBSO website here.
