Twinkling tree lights brightening up the New Street and High Street shopping areas will remain throughout the year.
The sparkling LED lights will be on timers to add extra sparkle in the city centre streets when the sun goes down.
Central BID successfully gained UK Shared Prosperity Fund money to buy the lights last year.
During gloomy Winter months, the lights will be on from around 4pm to 11pm every day.
The hours they are lit up will reduce gradually into the Summer as the days grow longer.
