‘Ask for Angela’ campaign push in Birmingham

The Central BID team is training staff in bars, restaurants and other socialising venues across Birmingham city centre about the ‘Ask for Angela’ safety campaign.

They are handing out the Ask for Angela posters and explaining how it works to make more hospitality staff aware of the national scheme.

It helps keep people safe – especially from sexual assault – if they are out, often on a date or meeting someone for the first time.

Anyone who feels in danger or uncomfortable with the person they are with can use the codeword ‘Angela’ to venue staff, who will then assist them in leaving discreetly.

Any venues within Central BID’s area who would like Ask for Angela training and posters from should email Paul Barnett at paul.barnett@centralbid.co.uk.
